Bioinformatics and Image Processing

This TIMed CENTER Core Facility works on a solid basis for the administration and integration of biological data.

Furthermore, various ways to analyze this special data are intended to be developed. In order to automize the analyses of biomedical or molecular biological data, algorithms and intelligent software systems are written at the faculty Hagenberg of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. These support life scientists like physicians, biologists and geneticists in their daily work.

With the help of bioinformatics, biological processes may be simulated, too. The research- and development projects, which researchers have worked on for years, are done together with partners from the field of science and economy. These fruitful cooperations resulted in the development of various useful algorithms and methods, for example a programme for sequence analysis and analysis algorithms for the identification of proteins.
