Summary: That was the Digital MedTech 2017

On November 30, the MedTech-Cluster, the IT-Cluster and the European Region Danube Vltava hosted a symposium about Digitised Medical Technology. In context of the event, the focus was directed at the following two topics: “Science meets business” and “IT-Security and data privacy”. In case you have missed the symposium, the highlights can be found in our German Twitter feed.
In the first section of the event, institutions and organisations based in Upper Austria who work in the field of medical technology presented themselves and their work to their colleagues from the European Region Danube Vltava (EDV). After that, the visitors went on a guided tour through the Research Center Hagenberg. In context of this tour, VR- and AR-technologies for gamified applications, the interoperability in the domain of health care and smart textiles were demonstrated.
In the afternoon, experts of the FH Upper Austria used the stage of the Digital MedTech Initiative (DMI) to hold lectures about important aspects in the field of IT-security and data privacy in medicine. Not only the legal but also the technological point of view was referred to. For all of you who have not been able to join the symposium, we documented the highlights in a live-ticker on Twitter. Unfortunately, all the content is provided only in German. Nevertheless, scrolling through the feed is worth the time as it will give you an impression of the event and might motivate you to join next time.
